A former officer of The Children's Community Chest of Reno has pleaded guilty to felony insurance fraud.
56-year-old Timothy Lockwood faces from one to four years in prison when he's sentenced July ninth by Washoe District Judge Jerome Polaha.
Lockwood is accused of fraudulently reporting his son's car as stolen to Geico Insurance Company in July 2002 and receiving $6,500 on the claim.
He was arrested after an acquaintance reported the fraud to the state Attorney General's Insurance Fraud Unit.
Deputy Attorney General Ronda Clifton says fraud harms all consumers by increasing insurance premiums and is not tolerated in Nevada.
